Always thanks to my sister for introducing me to this band before so many others jumped on the bandwagon. Isn’t there an R.E.M. song called “Bandwagon?”

I would have been 12 when this came out and I believe was listening to them for 2 years already. It did not take long for others to catch on (Kevin, Brandon, Brian, Dennis, Mark). In the next 4 to 5 years close friends went to concerts, bought posters, shirts, etc etc.

I had zero money to get or go to any of that. Good for them. I’m glad they had the experience.

I had the cassettes a beat up Sony walkman and an imagination.

Notable songs and memories:

– Driver 8 – definitely had to learn this one on the guitar
– Life And How To Live It – a favorite of mine to listen to before a wrestling match
– Green Grow The Rushes – one of a few songs that had me thinking about mother earth and what have done
– Good Advices – this one always made me long for friends
– Wendell Gee – Tim Noel liked this song. I don’t know why but I know I remember him for it. I hope he’s well.
