Steely Dan writers Donald Fagen and Walter Becker included The College of William & Mary in “My Old School” simply because the name perfectly fit the song’s rhythmic cadence. The band had no real connection to the Virginia school.The song itself is actually a retaliation against Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, New York—where Becker and Fagen were arrested for drug possession. The duo swore they would never return to their “old school,” directly referencing Bard with the lyric about catching the “Wolverine up to Annandale”

Pressing has some pops/cracks and it’s a tad quiet but more than acceptable. Clean it for sure. Still considering the UHQR version of all Steely Dan.
